Why I’m Doing This

Grief has a way of bending time. Some days I’m a powerhouse, flying through emails and client sessions with nothing fogging my brain.

On other days, my only goal is to simply be vertical so I can force myself to take a few steps.

Throw in the brain fog, memory loss, and occasional panic attacks – you get the picture.

In this post, I’m sharing 10 subtle ways we leak our power—and how to gently reclaim it. These aren’t quick fixes, they’re small shifts toward a softer, more intentional way of living.

As I work, 𝒅𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒚, on simply being vertical, looking for answers, looking for clarity and peace, looking for my daughter to guide me through, I have come to the realization that I don’t have to explain how I feel. To anyone.

The absolute worst question, though unintentional is “how are you?” I do however, answer truthfully every time.

My rotation looks something like:

“I feel like shit.”

“I am super angry today.”

“I’m okay in this moment thanks.”

“Horrible ,but thank you for asking.”

Truth be told, I just don’t want to talk about how I feel.

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve really opened up. Since I have checked in with you all.

Some of you know, most of you don’t.

Life threw me a heartbreaking curveball. Even writing this 14 short months later is proving to be intense.

The unexpected loss my daughter. That’s where I’ve been. In the space of confusion, heartbreak and an indescribable pain.

The death of a child is not something I EVER thought I would be writing about.

So, as the unpredictable challenges roll in like unannounced waves, let’s master the art of “ebb and flow.”

My Five Ways to Harness Positivity through an Ebb and Flow Mindset
1. Turn the Tide with Gratitude

Every day might not be a day at the beach, but there’s always a seashell of happiness hiding somewhere. Keeping a gratitude journal can shift your focus from the waves that knock you down to the ones that lift you up.
