A Cozy Catch-Up After 5 Months of Travel
Good Morning Friends,
What’s happening this week? A massive cozy time at home in the California countryside, gardening, countryside walks, work-life in England, the Cotswolds, and lots of catching up.
I finally sat down long enough and uploaded to my YouTube Channel. You can watch that here — A COZY CATCH UP.
I hope you enjoy, I plan on spending more time sharing the past 5 months of travel. As I type this, I am realizing, WOW this year is flying by.
Where have I been?
In a nutshell – the UK.
A fairly recent professional opportunity appeared, and I jumped right in with both feet. With AW’s blessing (of course) and Keeva in tow, I’ve spent the majority of the year traveling throughout England. And of course, jaunts up to Scotland whenever possible.
This first week home has been a ton of catch-up.
Catching up on the property.
Catching up with friends and family.
Most importantly, catching up while still encouraging myself to slow down. I thrive on staying busy; this is a different busy. A healthy busy.
Sounds like an oxymoron considering what the first 5 months of 2026 have been for me.
I must say the year has been quite lovely.
One of the most powerful shifts I’ve realized in my life is finding joy again. I’ve felt joy in the past couple of years, but it was fleeting. Allowing myself to find new happiness in new opportunities has truly been so, so lovely.
The final two weeks in England were so gorgeous. I find the english country side, mostly in the Cotswolds, so healing. You are forced to slow down.
*** I was sure to throw those camera roll clips in my Youtube Video.
Very narrow country roads that force you to “bob and weave” your car to let a gigantic tractor by are a daily exercise.
Waiting for thirty minutes or more for your Sunday roast is normal. Sitting in pubs that are hundreds of years old, next to a raging fire while reading a hardbound book, became my norm. And I loved every second of the slow life.
What have I brought back with me from England? Slow-living.
Driving down narrow country roads, farmlife on full display, what’s not to love? It replicates my life at home in the California countryside. Just thousands of years older.
The goats, the sheep, the horses…my definition of slow-living in all its glory.
It was a reminder that it’s okay to slow down.
I simply have to remind myself that I’ve brought it back with me. The calm, the joy, the peacefulness of the English countryside.
The plan is to slow down and find joy!
