Why I’m Doing This

Grief has a way of bending time. Some days I’m a powerhouse, flying through emails and client sessions with nothing fogging my brain.

On other days, my only goal is to simply be vertical so I can force myself to take a few steps.

Throw in the brain fog, memory loss, and occasional panic attacks – you get the picture.

In this post, I’m sharing 10 subtle ways we leak our power—and how to gently reclaim it. These aren’t quick fixes, they’re small shifts toward a softer, more intentional way of living.

As I work, 𝒅𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒚, on simply being vertical, looking for answers, looking for clarity and peace, looking for my daughter to guide me through, I have come to the realization that I don’t have to explain how I feel. To anyone.

The absolute worst question, though unintentional is “how are you?” I do however, answer truthfully every time.

My rotation looks something like:

“I feel like shit.”

“I am super angry today.”

“I’m okay in this moment thanks.”

“Horrible ,but thank you for asking.”

Truth be told, I just don’t want to talk about how I feel.

Ladies (and gents,) I know life can be hectic, but it’s essential to hit the pause button and indulge in some “me time” now and then.

Trust me. Make it a priority. Make yourself a priority. Create new daily habits.

It’s not selfish—it’s self-care, and I know.

I am still working on this concept myself. 13-15 hour work days, yep, that’s me lately!
