It’s been a A LONG time since I’ve really opened up. Since I have checked in with you all.
Some of you know, most of you don’t.
Life threw me a heartbreaking curveball. Even writing this 14 short months later is proving to be intense.
The unexpected loss my daughter. That’s where I’ve been. In the space of confusion, heartbreak and an indescribable pain.
The death of a child is not something I EVER thought I would be writing about.
Her years of tests, medications and weekly trips to the ER/ICU were not stories I wanted to tell.
I lost my first child and best friend within weeks of a life-saving surgery.
I don’t share my daily tears, my screams into my pillow or my hourly breathing sessions to force my heart rate to slow.
I have no intention to. But I do intend to continue to find and share what helps in hopes I can help you somehow, some way.
As I get back full time into the swing of things, I’ve been taking the time to heal and reflect, and through that journey, I realized I need to pivot from what I’ve shared in the past.
Going forward, I’ll still give you peeks into my personal life as a 50+ woman figuring it all out, but I’m going to pour more energy into creating helpful and inspiring content.
Alexandra was insanely creative. In fact, she was the who ran the back end of this site. She was always full of thoughtful ideas.
Alex was a wonderful artist, cook and baker. I, on the other hand, have never been. Truthfully, until she passed I’ve never had any desire to try.
SHE is my daily inspiration and the reason I get out of bed, continue to stay fit and healthy, and to learn new mediums. To do my best to live the life she wants me to have.
I will be getting back to what she and I loved and shared in common.
My CA Country Home, Lake Tahoe & UK inspired content, Decor Ideas, achievable Healthy Recipes & Juicing, and of course the occasional Travel Adventure – because we all need a little escape sometimes.
Thank you for your kindness and support; it means the world.
Here’s to you and I exploring every page and chapter together, with her spirit and strength guiding me.
